OUR BELIEFS

  • We believe the Bible is God’s word and a gift to us. Through the Holy Spirit, God inspired people to write it so we could know Him, understand His heart, and learn how to live. Because of that, we trust the Bible as true, authoritative, and helpful for everyday life.

  • We believe there is one eternal God, the Creator of everything. Christians often describe God as the Trinity: one God who exists as three Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully God. God is perfectly loving, holy, just, and good, and He invites us to know Him personally.

    Does this mean Christians believe in three gods?
    No. We believe in one God, revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe God the Father is personal and perfect in love. He is holy, just, gracious, all-knowing, and all-powerful. He cares deeply about people, hears prayer, and offers salvation from sin and death through Jesus Christ.

  • We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the One who makes a restored relationship with God possible. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, performed miracles, taught the truth, died on the cross in our place, and rose again. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus made the way for us to be forgiven and made new.

    Why does Jesus matter so much?
    Because Christianity teaches that we cannot make ourselves right with God; Jesus lovingly made the way for us through His life, death, and resurrection.

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is God present with believers today. The Holy Spirit helps people recognize their need for God, comforts and guides believers, helps us follow Jesus, and equips Christians with spiritual gifts. We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still active today.

    What are spiritual gifts for?
    They are not for showing off. They are gifts from God meant to build up the church, serve others, and help believers grow.

  • We believe every person is made in the image of God. That means every person has value, dignity, and worth. Because of this, we want to treat all people with respect, compassion, and the love of Christ.

  • We believe sin is our rebellion against God—choosing our own way rather than His. Sin affects every person, separates us from God, and keeps us from fulfilling His purpose for our lives. None of us can repair that relationship through our own goodness, or religious activity.

  • We believe God offers forgiveness and new life through Jesus Christ. This is a gift of grace. A person receives it by turning from sin, trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior, and choosing to follow Him.

    What does repent mean?
    Repentance means turning away from sin and turning toward God. It is more than feeling sorry; it is a change of heart and direction as we respond to God's grace.

  • We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ — His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God. It cannot be earned by good works, church attendance, or human effort.

  • We believe water baptism is an important next step for people who have chosen to follow Jesus. It is a public picture of being united with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection.

    Does this mean Christians believe in three gods?
    No. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward faith and a public way to say, "I belong to Jesus."

  • Salvation makes us righteous before God. Sanctification is the ongoing work of God shaping the character of Christ in us as we yield to His Word and the Holy Spirit. It is the process of growing in holiness and becoming more like Jesus.

  • We believe the Church matters deeply to God — a family of believers who gather for worship, fellowship, prayer, teaching, and mission. God has uniquely equipped each of us with gifts and opportunities to strengthen the Church and serve the community around us.

  • We believe every person was created for eternity, and their eternal destination is determined by their response to Jesus. God offers eternal life through Christ, and Scripture describes Hell as real separation from God. Because of this, we point people with humility and hope to Jesus — who is returning as King of Kings. This gives us hope and calls us to live faithfully until He comes.
